Marsh Creek State Historic Park Emergency Septic System Excavation and Repair

The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Diablo Range District, is conducting an emergency repair project at Marsh Creek State Historic Park in Contra Costa County. The project focuses on the excavation and replacement of a failed septic tank and inlet pipe located near the residence at Marsh Creek. This work is classified as an emergency repair necessary to maintain essential public health and safety services, falling under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The scope of work includes the installation of a new 1,250-gallon septic tank and the replacement of a 30-foot inlet pipe using black ABS plastic pipe, ensuring proper levels for inflow and outflow. Additionally, the project involves repairing the gray water system to connect to the outflow system, installing new poly risers with covers for future maintenance, and backfilling the excavated area with sand and existing non-native clean capping soil.
