AI Contract Overview
The City of Olympia is seeking a consultant to develop a conceptual design for the Martin Way Corridor, encompassing 4th Avenue East and Martin Way between Sawyer Street and College Street, with approximately 10 percent design completion. The project aims to enhance mobility, safety, and accessibility through a series of key infrastructure improvements including roundabouts at Sawyer, Ensign, Lilly, Sleater Kinney, and other strategic locations, contiguous sidewalks and separated bike lanes on both sides, enhanced crosswalks near bus stops, street and pedestrian lighting, in-lane bus islands, Business Access and Transit lanes, planter strips, landscaping, stormwater management systems, access management strategies, and necessary resurfacing. The consultant will deliver a comprehensive conceptual design supported by detailed documentation, cost estimates, and optional construction phasing approaches, along with analytical memos evaluating right-of-way constraints, environmental and regulatory requirements, stormwater dynamics, and traffic conditions. Public engagement is a critical component, requiring the consultant to actively involve community members and local businesses in reviewing design concepts and providing feedback on key project elements.
