The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) conducted a Request for Information (RFI) to assess the industry’s capabilities and expertise in providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to its Science & Technology Directorate, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, and Office of Health Affairs. The responses demonstrated a broad spectrum of qualifications, prompting DHS to plan separate acquisitions tailored to the unique SETA requirements of each component. These acquisitions will include indefinite quantity ordering vehicles, blanket purchase agreements, standalone contracts, or task orders managed under FAR Part 15 and FAR Part 8.4 procedures, with certain portions designated for small businesses where applicable. The planned solicitations for these distinct acquisitions were expected between March and May 2011, with ongoing updates to be posted on FedBizOpps. DHS expressed appreciation for industry’s engagement and interest in fulfilling these SETA needs and anticipates continuing collaboration throughout the acquisition processes. The contract administration is managed through the Contract Administration Services Division in Washington, DC, with Christopher Wallis serving as the point of contact for inquiries related to the solicitation.
