Solicitation FA5685-15-Q-0050 is a request for the procurement of mattresses and box springs to be performed in Incirlik, Turkey. The requirement falls under NAICS code 442110 for furniture stores. While the solicitation is listed as full and open, the U.S. Air Force intends to award the contract to a business concern within Turkey in accordance with the Defense and Economic Cooperation Agreement. The government reserves the right to award to a non-Turkish entity if a local provider cannot be found, though such entities are cautioned regarding local challenges including high social security taxes, residency permits, and CE marking requirements for imported goods. Key dates for this effort included a response deadline of September 4, 2015, with an estimated award date of September 8, 2015. A critical notice to offerors specifies that funds were not presently available at the time of posting, and no award will be made until funding is secured. The government maintains the right to cancel the solicitation without reimbursing offerors for any associated costs. Primary points of contact for this action are Don Hirst and Contracting Officer Ann Marie L. Bierman.
