The contract involves MCL Construction's recent award to serve as the construction manager for the HEALTH SCIENCE EDUCATION CENTER II project at the University of Nebraska, in collaboration with RDG Planning & Design and the Board of Regents. The project scope encompasses interior finishes and fixtures, including plastic paneling, visual display units, cubicle curtains, wall and door protection, plastic toilet compartments, bathroom accessories, fire protection cabinets and extinguishers, solid phenolic lockers, and roller shades. MCL is seeking proposals from qualified subcontractors to provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract based on the construction documents dated December 13, 2023. The selection criteria emphasize project experience, team presentation, approach, and fees, with cost being a significant, but not sole, factor. The contract will be binding based on the proposed GMP, barring major scope changes, and requires a Payment and Performance bond, as the project is tax-exempt. Proposals must be submitted through the designated system by March 6, 2024, with detailed assumptions and pricing provided. The scope of work will be executed in accordance with the provided construction documents, and interested firms can access the drawings and proposal materials via the MCL Pipeline Suite by contacting Leslie Keane. The project aims to assemble a team of experienced partners capable of delivering quality work within budget constraints, with the ultimate goal of supporting the university’s educational infrastructure. The contract is part of a broader procurement effort that includes various bids and proposals from other municipalities and organizations, highlighting a competitive environment focused on transparency and compliance with procurement policies.

MCL Construction has been recently awarded the contract for HEALTH SCIENCE EDUCATION CENTER II. In conjunction with the construction team, RDG Planning & Design, and Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, MCL is inviting your firm to provide a proposal for a GMP Contract based on the information outlined below. MCL will be selecting partners based on their proposal, project experience, presented team, approach to project, and proposed preconstruction/GMP construction fees. Please provide detailed assumptions that you make while preparing your proposal. Your company will be contractually tied to your GMP amount barring any major scope changes. This project is tax-exempt and will require a Payment and Performance bond.
