The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MEN-68634-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Janet McLeod.
This Agreement relies on the Notification materials and a CDFW site visit on September 9, 2025. The Project is limited to one (1) encroachment to stabilize 40 feet of the left streambank (facing downstream) of Salt Hollow Creek, divided into two treatments areas (Treatment Area A and Treatment Area B). Treatment Area A is a continuation of the adjacent project permitted under Notification No. EPIMS-MEN-68802-R1C being carried out by the Mendocino County Department of Transportation. Treatment Area B will armor the remaining streambank in the project area with vegetated rock slope protection (VRSP). During VRSP installation, individual willow stakes will be bent up through the rock while ensuring contact of the stem with native ground. All non-natural debris (culvert(s), old fences, broken concrete, etc.) encountered in the streambank during project implementation shall be removed and disposed of appropriately. The fallen tree spanning the stream channel will be removed and placed in an upland location, and native tree species appropriate for the site will be planted along the top of bank.
