The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement engage the services of a Medical Ethics Consultant to review medical treatment decisions and offer support to staff in relation to patient care within the Ontario Region. Objectives: From an ethics perspective, the contractor will assist CSC staff by providing guidance and advice on complex patient care; reviewing patient care plans and providing support to the development and implementation of an ethical framework for staff. Deliverables: The contractor must: a) Produce reports for the project authority: i) Yearly summary report identifying key themes of the ethical consultations for that year and the sites they occurred. b) Facilitate a minimum of one (1) staff education session on “professional and personal ethics and the burden of care” per year, billed at the regular hourly rate.
