Full Description
PURPOSE. The State of Minnesota currently has several existing contracts under Contract Release M-583(5). The purpose of this RFP is to expand the current Contract Release offerings, by contracting with additional vendors that may be able to provide customers additional options in having their metal fabrication project needs met. Any contracts that are a result of this RFP will be added to the existing M-583(5) Contract Release.
State agencies and members of the Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) program are required to purchase various fabricated materials to equip and repair various pieces of equipment, including vehicle attachments and equipment. For instance, MnDOT has over 800 snowplow trucks dedicated to clearing snow and ice from the State’s highway system. In this case, various metal fabricated items are required to keep existing trucks in service, as well as new materials needing to be fabricated to properly equip new trucks.
Potential items are wide-ranging and may not be known until needs arise. Some examples may include: fabricating new attachments for snow plows and new kayak/canoe racks. The range of needs among the State and CPV members is not yet fully known.
This contract is to be considered commodities based, in which the contractor will be asked to deliver a final finished product(s) to the ordering customer, on an as-needed basis.
