Laser Spectra-Physics Millennia 3900 S, Spectra Physics - Etalon 0445-0050 Optical Component

This proposed action is for the procurement of a 352 nm Continuous Wave (CW)10 Watt Diode Pumped Solid State(DPSS) laser integrated into single unit that fits into the available 15" long x 6" wide x 4.25" High space of our test setup and can pump our Spectra-Physics 3900S Ti:sapphire tunable laser. The government also requires Etalon parts to increase the wavelength accuracy of 3900S Ti:sapphire laser. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c). This proposed procurement will be a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 334511. Size standard is 700 employees. The proposed source is Spectra- Physics 3635 Peterson Way Santa Clara, CA 95054. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received within five (5) days of this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is as follows: The Government requires a Laser Spectra-Physics Millennia 3900 S, Spectra Physics - Etalon 0445-0050 Optical Component in order to recognize the full linewidth reduction capabilities of the entire system. The 3900 S is manufactured by Spectra Physics and no other vendor can supply a 532 nm 10 Watt CW DPSS laser in a single container that meets the space constraints of the laboratory (15 feet long x 6 feet wide x 4.25 feet high for our test setup and safety concerns. In addition, Spectra Physics is the only company that can provide a thick/thin Etalon to increase the wavelength of our existing 3900 S Ti Sapphire tunable laser.
