The U.S. Special Operations Command intends to procure specific electrical components for the MH-60L Test Set, including 20 switch toggles (P/N 973-0030), 15 throw push buttons (P/N STD944-15), and 20 switch toggles (S7) (P/N 973-0031). These items are designed and manufactured by Mason Electric Company, with Triman Industries, Inc. serving as the sole authorized distributor. Because the government does not possess the necessary specifications or drawings to allow for open competition, the acquisition is being pursued as a sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1 and will be handled as a commercial buy under FAR Part 12. The solicitation for this requirement was estimated for release on December 9, 2010, with a response deadline of December 21, 2010. While the government intends to negotiate with a single source, it has invited other firms capable of providing equal items to identify themselves. The procurement is managed by the Department of Defense through the Amsam-Spk agency, with Stacey N. Kirkland serving as the primary point of contact.
