The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation intends to award a sole source, long-term strategic contract to Thales Defense and Security, Incorporated for consumable parts support of the MH-60R Airborne Low Frequency Sonar system. This integrated dipping sonar is critical for undersea warfare missions, including submarine detection, tracking, and classification. The scope of work encompasses multiple national stock numbers and various functions such as inventory management, forecasting, distribution, storage, and engineering maintenance. The proposed agreement will be a firm fixed price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with a total period of performance of five years. To ensure mission readiness, the contract may include specific metrics for Material Availability and On Time Delivery along with associated disincentives. While the action is intended as a sole source due to a lack of government-owned technical data, the agency has allowed other capable suppliers to express interest in providing specific items.
