Microwave Generator and PCU

Argonne National Laboratory, operated by UCHICAGO ARGONNE, LLC under the U.S. Department of Energy, is seeking a single Firm Fixed Price quotation for a microwave generator and process control unit (PCU) under solicitation number 6-B185-Q-00277-00, with a response deadline of 5:00 PM CST on May 26, 2026. The system, intended for in-situ X-ray experimentation at the Advanced Photon Source, must include a 450 W, 2.45 GHz solid-state microwave generator (SAIREM GMS450 or equivalent), an IR pyrometer, a Windows-based control computer with Python or LabVIEW software, a water chiller, and associated hardware, all integrated into a closed-loop control system with PID routines and programmable heating profiles. The microwave resonant cavity must operate in the 2.4–2.5 GHz band using a TE111 mode and be fully compatible with APS experimental configurations for high-energy diffraction and tomography, including support for rotating sample-stage assemblies. Remote communication must support Modbus RTU via RS232, RS485, or Ethernet. All proposals must be submitted with complete and accurate documentation, including a signed page 1, fully completed page 2 with country of origin and anticipated ship date, and firm fixed pricing in U.S. Dollars entered into the designated line-item boxes; failure to complete all three components will result in rejection. Offerors must provide a published pricelist or redacted invoice to support pricing, exclude shipping insurance due to Argonne’s self-insured status, and declare lead time. The contract is subject to Argonne’s Terms and Conditions (ANL-71-COM, dated 10/22/2025), with mandatory adherence to FAR clauses including limitation on payments to influence federal transactions, contractor code of ethics, safeguarding of information systems, prohibition on Kaspersky products, restrictions on certain telecommunications, small business utilization, equal opportunity, combating trafficking in persons, warranty of noncomplex supplies (two-year term), and other provisions.
