The U.S. Army, through the Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal (ACC-RSA), intends to procure additional Mid Range Capability (MRC) weapon system units, specifically a fifth battery with the potential for added Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This acquisition will be conducted via a sole source procurement to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Rotary and Mission Systems, which developed and produced the previous four batteries, due to their unique qualifications and the agency’s determination that no other supplier can meet the requirements. The selected procurement strategy is authorized under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, allowing non-competitive contracting when only one responsible source is available to satisfy agency needs. The announcement fulfills the public notice requirements under FAR 5.203(a), indicating the government’s intent to negotiate exclusively with Lockheed Martin prior to formal contract solicitation. The presolicitation notice was posted on December 16, 2024, with a response deadline of December 27, 2025. The NAICS code for the requirement is 336414, and the work will be performed at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Interested parties can contact the primary or secondary points of contact listed in the contract for further information.
