Miltenyi Biotec for a gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Miltenyi Biotec for a gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters.

The Government intends to solicit from a single source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.

Miltenyi Biotec is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters because Miltenyi Biotec is the manufacturer and exclusive source for the gentleMACS™ instrument platform and its proprietary components and accessories.

The required system incorporates proprietary technology and is designed for use with Miltenyi Biotec's proprietary consumables and accessories, including gentleMACS™ C Tubes, M Tubes, Perfusers, Perfusers 2, and the gentleMACS™ Octo Cooler. These components are specifically designed for use with the gentleMACS™ instruments and are not interchangeable with products from other manufacturers.

Additionally, the gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters provides integrated dissociation and temperature-control capabilities, including compatibility with Miltenyi Biotec's proprietary perfusion technology. The required configuration and associated components are not available from another source as an equivalent system meeting the Government's requirements.

Based on the proprietary nature of the required equipment and associated components, Miltenyi Biotec is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required system without substantial duplication of cost or unacceptable delays.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties that believe they are capable of meeting the Government's requirements may submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide the required gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters and all required components.

The Government will consider all timely responses received and will determine whether the acquisition should proceed as a single-source procurement or be competed.

The Government anticipates making an award approximately five (5) calendar days after the closing date of this notice, unless the Government determines that another responsible source is capable of meeting the requirement.

Capability statements shall be submitted electronically to haunp@mail.nih.gov no later than 9:00 a.m. EDT on September 17, 2026.
