To finish abandonment of (1) noncompliant 60-inch drainpipe and to repair gate valve of (1) noncompliant 60-inch drainpipe both going through the federal levee. The first pipe needs to be completely slurry filled with flowable concrete per Title 23 § 124 (c). It was found to be partially filled before the project and currently requires complete abandonment per Title 23 §124. (c). Formwork will be built against the exposed end and concrete flowed in until the concrete is above the top of pipe indicating complete fill has been achieved. The second pipe was originally installed with a gate valve; however, the valve is no longer there and so the pipe is out of compliance with Title 23 § 123 (c)(5) requiring a waterside closure device. A new gate valve will be installed in the same location as the prior valve. Corrosion protection will also be applied to the pipe.
