Full Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to the Jeppesen Sanderson Inc. for mission planning software licenses, electronic navigation, charting, products, and technical maintenance support for the support of the 1st Airborne Command Control Squadron (1 ACCS and the 45th Reconnaissance Squadron (45 RS). Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc. is the only U.S. Company that can provide world-wide navigation and charting products in the required depth and detail. These products and services will be provided by Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc.'s Mission Ops charts and include but are not limited to departures, enroute, arrival, terminal and airport diagrams. Information on these charts includes radio aids, meteorology codes, conversion tables, local airspace entry requirements and emergency procedures. This product will integrate with Mil PlannerTM, so that planners and aircrews can access these charts instantaneously when changes are made to the mission. Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc.'s Mil PlannerTM, is the only product that links into the Military's Digital Aeronautical Flight Integration File. Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc.'s proprietary flight planning software, Mil PlannerTM, mission planners, and aircrews can simultaneously plan multiple itineraries in any region of the world, display the route on digital charts, and overlay the latest visual weather data to determine optimum routing. Jeppesen Sanderson Inc.'s Global Support and Control center provides the capability to compute flight plans for aircrews, send flight plans to the aircrew, and coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC) throughout the world on a moment's notice. These software licenses with technical maintenance support can be coordinated via a computer terminal or telephone 24/7/365. The 1 ACCS and 45 RS cannot accomplish its mission without this service as ATC slot times and routings in Europe's airspace change continuously. This notice is for informational purposes only, Numbered Note 22 applies. This is neither a request for proposal nor solicitation of offers. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received by close of business (10 calendar days) will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
