The Air Force Test Center (AFTC), Edwards Air Force Base, CA is seeking potential sources capable of providing a Mobile Fine-mist Humidifier for the 31st Test and Evaluation Squadron, Edwards AFB, CA 93524. Requirement of the unit: This humidifier shall be used to increase humidity levels to a sufficient level (although, a large scale) to enable maintenance personnel to perform Low Observable maintenance on F-35 aircraft. The Salient Characteristics required for the Humidifier unit are as follows: 1. Must have a minimum 18-gallon water reservoir 2. Must have a hose connector for filling with water 3. Must have a float valve for automatic filling 4. Must be explosion-proof 5. Must be portable with wheels 6. Must have capability to be used indoors and outdoors 7. Must be capable of large-scale humidification The performance of the unit must conform to industrial standards for conformance with both domestic and foreign standards will provide environment to perform the required maintenance. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide a unit that meets the salient characteristics listed above. . Firms responding to this synopsis must identify their company's capabilities to provide a Mobile Fine-mist Humidifier that meets the requirements described herein, reference the synopsis number and indicate whether or not they are a small or small disadvantaged business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 334513, and Small Business Size is 500. The information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this sources sought synopsis, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in September 2011.
