The 355th Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source procurement action with ASE, Inc., for the procurement of the following items: Contractor shall provide all necessary tools, equipment, labor and materials to modify thirty (30) A-10 Aircraft Maintenance Stands. This requirement is accomplished in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a Single Source. This requirement is being conducted to support an immediate need for modifications to thirty (30) A-10 aircraft maintenance stands is required to ensure the stands meet new aircraft height requirements due to changes in the AMARG A-10 workload. The original contract was award to ASE, Inc., a small business who specializes in design and manufacturing of aircraft maintenance stands and ground support equipment. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of these A-10 stands, ASE, Inc. is positioned to accomplish the required modifications in accordance with their proprietary OEM design. The A-10 stands are still within the original warranty period therefore any work accomplished by an outside vendor would render the warranty null and void. Based on the fact that drawings are proprietary, any other vendor trying to modify the stands would need to make the required adjustments without the benefits of the design drawings. Additionally, modifications accomplished outside of the OEM's recommendations not only void the warranty but could result in additional cost to the government. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Questions regarding this notice must be submitted no later than (NLT) Monday, 16 AUG by 3:00 pm PST to Contracting Officer Breysi Stephens at email breysi.stephens@us.af.mil or phone (520) 228-3598 or Contracting Officer Heidi Fox at e-mail heidi.fox@us.af.mil, or phone (520) 228-6563. All inquiries received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The 355th Contracting Office will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
