This contract involves the modernization of the Remote Control Status Unit (RCSU) Small Form factor 2238, along with associated peripheral equipment and interfaces for the AN/TRN-48 Deployable TACAN (D-TACAN) fleet. The primary objective is to replace obsolete components and integrate updated equipment into the existing infrastructure to ensure the continued functionality of the Remote Maintenance and Monitoring capability. The selected contractor is responsible for providing all qualified personnel, management, technical services, materials, and equipment required to fulfill the Performance Work Statement. The government intends to pursue a noncompetitive action under FAR 13.501(a), negotiating exclusively with Leidos/Moog-Fernau. This sole-source approach is justified because Leidos/Moog-Fernau developed the AN/TRN-48 system and retains the critical proprietary data necessary for the design and modification of the equipment. Managed by the General Services Administration and performed in Fort Worth, Texas, the effort ensures the fleet continues to meet military deployable navigational performance requirements.
