The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Molecular Devices for Microplate Reader. The SpectraMax ABS Plus UV/Vis Microplate Reader from Molecular Devices is the current instrument being used by our Diagnostic and Reference Lab in Fort Collins. Because our current plate reader (BioTek) is no longer being supported in the way of repairs and preventative maintenance we need to replace this with an instrument that we can rely on to be in good working condition and have the ability to conduct PMs and repairs where needed. This presents an opportunity for us to get the same model of instrument as our diagnostic lab to facilitate comparison of assay results and data analysis. Our group is involved in developing multiple assays that are then transferred to our diagnostic lab for use in more rapid diagnostics for arthropod borne viruses and it would be ideal to use the same platform between assay development and the diagnostic labs who will eventually run these assays. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at vwl0@cdc.gov by 10:00 A.M. EST., September 11, 2023
