Mountain View Middle School Water Improvements

The Chatom Union School District is implementing the Mountain View Middle School Water Improvements project to replace an unreliable on-site well with a dependable potable water source from the City of Ceres. The scope of work involves installing 5.83 miles of up to 6-inch water line within the right-of-way of Crows Landing Road, extending north from the school to the city supply. This infrastructure will be connected to the existing school water systems to ensure the health and safety of students and faculty without increasing the school's overall capacity. Additional construction includes the installation of a new concrete pad to support a booster pump, a generator, and a 24,000-gallon water storage tank measuring 17 feet in diameter and 15 feet in height. The project also requires the installation of security fencing around the perimeter of the concrete pad. All work will be performed on previously disturbed ground on the school campus and along Crows Landing Road in California. The project is classified under NAICS code 237110 and adheres to various CEQA categorical and statutory exemptions, including Class 1, 3, and 14, as well as SB 974. District Superintendent Cherise Olvera serves as the primary point of contact for the project.
