The objective of this RFP is to solicit Proposals from qualified Civil Engineering firms to provide engineering consulting services for road construction, environmental, and other civil works within the Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87. The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 is a Municipal District in Alberta’s northeast region. It covers approximately 6050 km2 and is the steward for ~2400km of local roads accessing agriculture, industry and oilfield sites. Historically, the M.D. has hired consulting firms to complete feasibility studies and assessments regarding the addition or expansion of sewer/water/drainage infrastructure. Additionally, the M.D. may require technical support to assist with inspecting, maintaining, rehabbing, and lifecycle replacement of existing infrastructure. It is anticipated that technical support will be required from the successful proponent, as well as the design/construction management of future civil projects for which the successful proponent may be asked to assist with. The M.D. plays an important role in protecting the environment while supporting responsible land use. Although environmental regulation is shared across municipal, provincial, and federal governments, the M.D. has specific responsibilities that help manage local impacts and promote environmental stewardship. Technical assistance may be required in carrying out these responsibilities. Furthermore, the M.D. owns the Bonnyville Regional Airport that is an unmanned airport.
