Mural at Ken’s Tires

The City of South Lake Tahoe is commissioning a mural on an existing retaining wall between two properties to honor three local youth who passed away in the past year. The mural will depict a mountainous backdrop featuring Mt. Tallac with fireworks lighting the sky, while the foreground shows the three individuals seated together in a field of flowers, each portrayed with personal accessories reflecting their unique interests and personalities. The artwork is intended to serve as a lasting tribute within the community, capturing both the natural beauty of the region and the lives of those being remembered. The project is being managed through the city’s planning department, with Gretchen Schooleman, Assistant Planner, serving as the primary point of contact for official matters, and Rebecca Bryson, Past President and Treasurer of Tal Art, providing additional support and coordination. The mural location is in South Lake Tahoe, California, with the project publicly announced as a forecast on July 9, 2026.
