N0016426RLL11 – SOLE SOURCE - New and Repair of the MK-82 Director Long Life Gyroscope (Peanut Gyro)

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane plans to award a five-year, Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at approximately $9.9 million for the overhaul and new manufacture of the long life gyroscope, also referred to as the peanut gyroscope, used in the Gyro Block Assembly of the MK-82 Guided Missile Director. This contract will support both U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales customers. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis with U.S. Dynamics Corporation, the only approved supplier of this gyroscope, as identified through market research and authorized under FAR 6.302-1. Delivery will be FOB destination with inspection and acceptance conducted at the destination. The contract includes data deliverables as per established requirements, and all technical data involved may be export-controlled, requiring proper certification under the Joint Certification Program before access. Interested parties may submit capability statements or proposals, but the sole source nature of the contract means award negotiation will occur directly with U.S. Dynamics.
