The VA Portland HCS has a requirement for software licenses and hardware warranty. With the warranty, it is needed to maintain an onsite operator. VA Portland and VISN 20 purchased the V-Armed Virtual Reality Simulator to enhance VA Police training ability for Active Threat and Crisis Intervention. This will include software license and updates, for the maintenance of Scenario Launcher, After Action-Review, Scenario Editor software packages, and Motive System Launcher (Opti-Track). The warranty will include repair and/or replacement for all equipment malfunctions associated with the V-Armed System not due to operator error or misuse. The warranty will include an onsite operator technician who will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and operations of the system. The operator technician must be credentialed and sponsored by V-Armed to complete all required programming and maintenance on-site. The operator must have the ability to pass required contractor background investigations.
