The Department of Veterans Affairs, Northport VA Medical Center, plans to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to Arjo, Inc. to acquire additional patient lifts, including one Maxi Sky 1000 ECS, hanger bars, KwikTrak, and the installation of several lifts. This procurement is driven by a mandate to comply with the VHA Safe Patient Handling Directive 1611, which prohibits staff from lifting more than 35 pounds during patient care and requires sufficient patient handling equipment based on ergonomic assessments. The lifts and associated parts sought in this contract complement previously purchased lift motors and components acquired through ECAT. This notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals but informs potential sources for future procurements. Responses submitted by the specified deadline will be reviewed voluntarily to assist in determining future sources, though the government will not pay for any information submitted. This will be the only notice regarding the government's intent to negotiate and award a contract solely to Arjo, Inc. The contracting office managing this effort is the 242-NETWORK Contract Office 02, with Paul Speedling serving as the Contracting Officer.
