Nantucket Pier Repairs & Improvements

The Town of Nantucket is soliciting sealed bids for various repairs and improvements to the Town Pier located at 34 Washington Street, Nantucket, MA. The project consists of a base bid for timber repairs to the pier and breakwater, as well as a bid alternative for the transportation and installation of two replacement concrete floats, which involves picking up owner-procured floats from New Bedford, MA, and removing existing temporary wooden floats. All work must adhere to the technical design criteria and seven sheets of project plans prepared by Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC. Bids must be submitted electronically by October 29, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Submissions require a bid security of 5% of the bid price and must include a Certificate of Non-Collusion, a Tax Compliance Certification, and a Certification of Corporation to Sign Agreement. The selected contractor must provide performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price and comply with Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rates. Work is subject to environmental permits that restrict in-water, silt-producing activities from January 15th through May 31st annually. Standard working hours are 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The contractor is responsible for the preservation of all public and private property and must ensure all treated timber carries AWPA quality certification. Final acceptance of the work is conducted by the Owner, and bonds must remain in force for one year following that acceptance.
