The National Nuclear Security Administration's Los Alamos National Laboratory has installed three new cellular towers on its property to enhance cellular service capabilities for laboratory operations. Triad, LLC, the management and operating contractor for LANL, plans to seek proposals in fiscal year 2020 to provide cellular telephone and data services to laboratory personnel. Each tower supports up to three cellular service providers, with preferred equipment placement for the selected LANL cellular service provider. Additional equipment from other providers may be considered but requires approval from the NNSA Los Alamos Field Office. Equipment installation and activation must comply with NNSA policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and usage is subject to specific terms and access controls due to sensitive site operations. The upcoming solicitation will focus on providers listed under the GSA IT Schedule 70 contract capable of delivering reliable nationwide cellular coverage, including seamless continental U.S. connectivity and international access. A critical factor in provider selection will be the quality and coverage of service not only at LANL but also across neighboring counties in northern New Mexico such as Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, and Santa Fe. This notice does not represent a formal request for proposals or commitments for purchase, and any associated response costs are the responsibility of the interested parties. Additional details, potential fees for right-of-way or easement grants, and the possibility of future solicitations will be communicated if applicable. No awards will arise directly from this special notice.
