NATIONWIDE AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM/VERY HIGH FREQUENCY/DIGITAL SELECTIVE CALLING SUPPORT SERVICES IN ALASKA (NAIS AK)

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) needs to obtain comprehensive Automatic Identification System (AIS) services, VHF-FM maritime voice communications, and DSC (data) communications for designated regions and ports of Alaska, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This contract covers four primary functions:
1. AIS Data and Maintenance Services: The contractor shall provide, manage, and maintain a network of terrestrial AIS sites to ensure the continuous reception of vessel data. This data will be delivered to the USCG to support maritime domain awareness.
2. AIS Transmission Services: The contractor shall provide the capability for the USCG to transmit messages from shore-based stations to AIS-equipped vessels. These transmissions will support navigational safety, security notifications, environmental alerts, and the broadcast of synthetic and virtual Aids to Navigation (AtoN). The AIS data and transmission capabilities will be used by the USCG and shared with other Government agencies to support missions including maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and search and rescue.
3. VHF-FM Maritime Voice Communications: The contractor shall provide, manage, and maintain VHF-FM capabilities to ensure the continuous reception and transmission of VHF communications (VHF CH16) between shore-based stations and vessels in Alaskan waterways beyond the existing Rescue-21 Alaska coverage areas.
4. DSC (data) communications: The contractor shall provide, manage, and maintain DSC capabilities (CH 70) to ensure continuous reception of DSC data in Alaskan waterways beyond the existing Rescue-21 Alaska coverage areas.
