Full Description

The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) will be hosting quarterly Joint Interagency Field Experimentation (JIFX) events throughout the 2016 fiscal year (FY16). These events will focus on exploring the potential of new capabilities to address challenges faced by the United States’ Combatant Commanders (AFRICOM, CENTCOM, EUCOM, NORTHCOM, PACOM, SOCOM, SOUTHCOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM) and the federal entities that support (or are supported by) the COCOMs. The Department of Defense is the sponsoring entity for this event. This event is modeled on the successful US Special Operations Command – Naval Postgraduate School’s Tactical Network Testbed (TNT) / Capability Based Experimentation (CBE) events and is being conducted to provide the benefits of a multi institutional semi-structured learning environment for the conventional forces community. Companies, educational institutions, laboratories and other organizations are invited to submit Experiment Proposals that may lead to an invitation to participate in FY16 JIFX events. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3 Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997): 1) The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI notice or to otherwise pay for the information. 2) Although “proposal? and “respondent? are used in this RFI, your responses will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal for funding. 3) In accordance with FAR Clause 52.209(c), the purpose of this RFI is to solicit technology experimentation candidates from R and D organizations, private industry, and academia for inclusion in future experimentation events coordinated by the Naval Postgraduate School.
