Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Maintenance Dredging, Entrance Channel, Camden County, Georgia and Nassau County, Florida

This contract, issued by the Department of Defense through the Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, involves maintenance dredging of the Entrance Channel at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay across Camden County, Georgia, and Nassau County, Florida. The primary scope of work focuses on dredging from Cut-1N through Range-E, with excavated materials to be distributed among the Fernandina Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site, the Fernandina Nearshore Placement Area, the Fort Clinch Placement Area, and the North Beach Placement Area. The project includes several incidental requirements such as water quality and environmental monitoring, vibration monitoring, beach tilling, beach fill quality control, and specialized trawling for sea turtles and sturgeon. Additionally, the contract provides for interim mobilization and demobilization for cutter-suction dredges. Two optional components are included: Option A for pre-placement debris removal at Fort Clinch and Option B for extended beach tilling between FDEP Monuments R-019 and R-029.
