NEEDLE, HYPODERMIC

The contract specifies the procurement of a 21-gauge hypodermic needle, with the unit of issue being a box of 12 needles. The product must have a shelf life of 60 months, with no more than nine months elapsed between the date of manufacture and the date of delivery to the government. Packaging must comply with commercial standards as outlined in the procurement document, requiring each needle to be sealed in a protective unit container and shipped in commercial exterior containers suitable for safe transit via common carrier at the lowest cost to the designated delivery point. All items must be marked in accordance with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129, and must include the NSN, manufacturer and CAGE code, date of manufacture, expiration or retest date, contract number, lot number, and “MFD” prefix preceding the lot and manufacture dates. The product is regulated by the FDA, and buyers must submit a referral to the product specialist for confirmation. The needles must be packaged per ASTM D3951, though DLA Master List requirements take precedence, and palletization must follow RP001: DLA Packaging Requirements. The shipment is destined for the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36, delivered FOB destination within 20 days, with no variance allowed in quantity. Parcels must not be sent via parcel post; instead, they must be shipped using the fastest traceable means with RDD 777 designation. All labeling and documentation must align with the specified NSN 6515-01-660-3150, contract SPE2DS-26-T-249W, and DLA vendor requirements. Approved manufacturers include Becton, Dickinson and Company, Medline Industries, LP, McKesson Medical-Surgical, and Tribalco LLC.
