NEEDLE, HYPODERMIC

The contract specifies the procurement of a single package containing 50 hypodermic needles, each 18 gauge by 1.5 inches in size, designated as a safety glide needle with a mandatory 60-month shelf life that cannot be extended. No more than nine months may have passed between the date of manufacture and the delivery date to the government. Each needle must be individually sealed in a protective unit container and packed in commercially appropriate shipping containers suitable for safe transport via common carriers at the lowest cost to the delivery point. All packaging and labeling must comply with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, replacing all references to MIL-STD-129, and must include the NSN 6515-01-526-1729, manufacturer and CAGE code, date of manufacture and expiration, contract number, and lot number. The item is subject to technical and quality requirements outlined in the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, and the contract falls under simplified acquisition procedures governed by the revision of the master in effect on the solicitation issue date. The delivery is required within 10 days after award, and the procurement is managed by the Department of Defense’s Medical Supply Chain, with all data subject to potential defense information coverage.
