This contract involves the procurement of a new 203mm Laser Bore Mapping Bore and Chamber Add-on Kit designed for use with 8-inch cannon gun tubes. The system will enable precise, non-contact measurement of bore and chamber dimensions, employing high-resolution sensors that automatically scan along the length of the bore from the muzzle to the chamber end. The kit includes essential components such as the bore chamber add-on, guide tube assembly, calibration rings, and specialized software for calibration, data acquisition, and analysis. The laser scanning modules are specified to achieve high accuracy and resolution, with axial and rotary scan resolutions of 0.25mm and 0.1mm respectively, and sensor resolution of 0.005mm, ensuring detailed bore profiling. The system is designed to be operated as a turnkey solution, compatible with existing data analysis software used by the US Army Yuma Proving Ground, and includes features like automatic calibration, multiple scan styles, and comprehensive data display and export capabilities. The contract stipulates that all components be packaged according to commercial standards and covered by a full one-year warranty, with shipping included. The acquisition is set aside for small businesses under the SBA's total small business set-aside program, with a response deadline of June 10, 2025. The procurement aims to enhance the Army’s capability for precise bore and chamber inspection, supporting maintenance and quality assurance processes for large caliber cannons. The contract is managed by the Department of the Army at Fort Drum, NY, with primary contacts provided for technical and administrative coordination.
