The Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) is requesting tenders from qualified Contractors to carry out site preparation and construction of a new Construction and Demolition Waste cell, at the 145 SPAR Road, Sydney Nova Scotia waste management facility. The project generally consists of site clearing and grubbing, excavation and preparation of the disposal cell, installation of a geosynthetic clay liner system, construction of a leachate collection system, placement of drainage aggregate, and associated works. The project is to be completed over two construction seasons, with earthworks occurring in 2026 and liner and cell construction activities occurring in 2027. Also included are provisional items relating to the removal of existing wood debris, and pump station modifications.
