This contract action funds a $90,000.00 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to support the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for Air Anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) systems. The effort is focused on the development of the Jargon-Aware AI (JAWA) system, which will enhance operator training and performance in passive air ASW operations. The JAWA system utilizes machine learning and explainable AI techniques to process and interpret sonar data, providing operators with domain-specific, interpretable outputs for improved target identification and decision-making. This effort is funded via “Implementing artificial intelligence solutions for air anti-submarine warfare communities” NISE project: 219TT-24-009.
