New T-Hangar and Associated Apron

SOMERSET COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION TO BIDDERS TITLE: NEW T-HANGAR AND ASSOCIATED APRON CRISFIELD-SOMERSET COUNTY AIRPORT (W41) – CRISFIELD, SOMERSET COUNTY, MD BID NO.: 01-24 Sealed Bids shall be accepted by The County Commissioners of Somerset County at the Somerset County Government Offices, 11916 Somerset Avenue, Room 111, Princess Anne, Maryland 21853 until 1:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. They will then be opened and read aloud at the County Commissioners’ meeting at 2:00 p.m. on the same day. The Scope of Work under this contract consists of furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, and associated work necessary to complete the New T-Hangar and Associated Apron project for Somerset County – Crisfield-Somerset County Airport. The scope of work for this project includes site demolition, mass earthwork, drainage and grading improvements, construction of new asphalt pavement section, construction of new concrete floor slab and foundations, and the construction of a new t-hangar building and associated infrastructure. All work shall be completed in accordance with the Contract Documents. The project is being bid with three (3) Alternates to include “Alternate 1: Entire Project”, “Alternate 2: Site work only”, and “Alternate 3: Building only”. The Contractor may submit on any single alternate or combination of alternates. The County may award up to two (2) of the alternates via separate contracts to complete the entire scope of work. Contract Plans and Specifications may be obtained electronically upon request by contacting Derek Hollinger, P.E., AECOM at contact@example.gov. Contract Documents will be available after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. All questions concerning this bid should be forwarded to contact@example.gov. The deadline for receipt of questions is Friday, December 6, 2024. All proposals must be received in a sealed envelope, separately for each Alternate, and clearly marked: “Bid 01-24 Alternate X, New T-Hangar and Associated Apron, Crisfield-Somerset County Airport (W41).” Sealed bids to be submitted must consist of one (1) hard paper original copy and one (1) hard paper duplicate copy; each clearly marked as such and each placed in the sealed envelope. Electronic bid proposals will NOT be accepted. Bidders should submit a separate proposal package for each alternate they choose to bid. A Pre-Bid Meeting for interested bidders will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024. All Contractors who obtain the plans and specifications from AECOM will be provided with bidding information electronically as registered plan holders. Bidders interested in inspecting the airport site independently must contact Dennis Cullison, W41 Airport Manager at +1 (555) 000-0000 to arrange a site visit. All Prime Contractors must visit the site pursuant to the general provisions in order to submit a bid. All bids shall conform to the requirements outlined in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by all completed bid forms (see Contract Specification Manual) and a bid guaranty in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount for each alternate which shall be in the form of a Cashier’s Check made payable to Somerset County, Maryland, or a bid bond which is underwritten by a surety company approved by the County. The Bid Package submitted by the successful bidder(s) must be reviewed and approved by the Maryland Aviation Administration prior to award of the Contract. Accordingly, it is intended that the project be awarded to the successful bidder(s) within 60 calendar days of the date specified above for publicly opening sealed bids. All unit prices shall be developed with consideration for project construction start-up and completion as described by the Bid Documents. Somerset County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid(s), or portions thereof, when, in their judgment, the public will be better served.
