Full Description

Tidelands will rework waterflood (WF) well 116-W (API 0403723633). The well is located on Pier C of the Port of Long Beach (POLB) in the Wilmington oil field. The rework consists of setting a temporary bridge plug and cementing a casing sleeve within production casing and falls under Group B of CalGEMs rework exemptions guidance document published in December 2023. Tidelands will conduct casing rework to regain mechanical integrity. No new construction or facilities expansion will be required for the rework activities. All activities will be limited to fenced in areas protecting the existing wells that located within concrete cellars. The casing rework activities timeline is 10 days. Key stakeholders are Tidelands, CalGEM, the City of Long Beach, and POLB. No impacts to wildlife are anticipated. The wellhead conductor is located in a concrete cellar. All work will occur within established oil and gas well cellars (trenches) in areas that provide minimal value as wildlife habitat. Pier C is entirely developed as oil production facilities, cargo container terminals, and maritime shipping service and logistics and does not support wildlife or native botanical species. The proposed project consists of the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) approving permit #7052483 for Tidelands Oil Production Co. to rework the well 116-W listed below, in the Wilmington Oil Field, to address well integrity issues and resume well water flood injection. API #: 0403723633 Well Name: 116-W
