Patrick Air Force Base, through the 45th Contracting Squadron, identified a requirement for non-metallic, non-reflective RF antenna tripods to support high-resolution data collection during field tests. The essential specifications for the equipment include a minimum load capacity of 50 pounds, an adjustable head for leveling and directionality, adjustable legs for stability and height, and a construction that is non-metallic, non-RF reflective, and capable of withstanding all weather conditions. Initial planning under reference number FA2521-15-Q-B074 explored a small business set-aside using NAICS code 333316, seeking capabilities from various small business designations including 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, and EDWOSB. Despite the initial market research and sources sought efforts, the government determined that only one source could meet the stringent technical requirements. Consequently, a single source justification was issued to authorize a non-competitive award to AR Worldwide, also identified as Amplifier Research Corp, under NAICS code 334220. The resulting procurement for the non-metallic RF antenna tripods was estimated at 35,620.00 dollars, as AR Worldwide was deemed the only capable source providing the necessary non-reflective and non-metallic characteristics required for the mission.
