This project is located on a private property in Guerneville, Sonoma County. The project will take place on one ownership, across two separate parcels. Project area slopes range from flat to extremely steep and the aspect is primarily east-facing. Forests are comprised of redwood, Douglas-fir, mixed-hardwoods (bigleaf maple, coast live oak, deciduous oaks, madrone, and bay laurel) and oak savannah. Treatments will target roughly 100-800 trees per acre with the majority of the basal area to be treated in trees ranging from 1-12” DBH for removal. Slash and other woody residue will either be pile and burned, chipped, or masticated. Additional treatments include site preparation and pruning between 50-200 trees per acre. Operational limitations for watercourses shall include a no operation buffer without clearance from a qualified Registered Professional Forester or qualified biologist determining non-presence of species listed under the Federal or State Endangered Species Act; these limitations shall take place within 50 feet for Class II watercourses and 75 feet for Class I watercourses for side slopes under 50%; side slopes over 50% shall include an additional 25-foot buffer.
