The Jackson County Board of Supervisors, through the Solid Waste Department, is soliciting unpriced proposals to prequalify vendors for the procurement of two new, unused, or 2026 demonstration model hydraulically operated knuckle-boom loader trucks. These vehicles are intended as one-man operated, turnkey systems for collecting oversized trash and debris. Technical requirements include a minimum 300 HP/900 lb-ft torque 24-valve I-6 turbocharged diesel engine, a heavy-duty 3000 series R.D.S. Allison electronic five-speed transmission with overdrive, and specific hydraulic cylinder and outrigger specifications to ensure stability and performance. Each truck must be delivered with a parts manual and four sets of keys. Prequalification proposals must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. on October 28, 2026, via electronic submission at www.jacksoncoplans.com or by sealed envelope to the Director of Purchasing in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Bidders must provide full specifications and note any exceptions to the minimum requirements. Following the evaluation of these proposals, responsible and responsive vendors will be invited to participate in an electronic reverse auction on November 12, 2026.
