The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative is offering grant funding through the Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerator Program (MMAP) for fiscal year 2027 to support small- to medium-sized manufacturers with fewer than 500 employees in modernizing their operations through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation. Applicants must submit a comprehensive application that includes a description of their business, workforce size, current technological challenges, supported industries, potential market opportunities, a detailed grant budget with cost match, a five-minute video introduction, and a completed W-9 form. The maximum individual award is $300,000, with mandatory cost shares of 50% for awards up to $100,000 and 100% for awards between $100,001 and $300,000; both cash and in-kind contributions qualify as match. Funding is distributed through a nonprofit intermediary, and grantees must retain all purchased equipment in Massachusetts for at least five years after installation, with provisions for return or transfer to a nonprofit or academic partner if the business relocates or ceases operations. Applications must be submitted via an Airtable portal by July 31, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST, and all submissions are subject to Massachusetts Public Records Law unless confidentiality is formally requested at least 10 business days prior. Evaluation is based on six non-ranked factors including company readiness, alignment with program priorities, workforce impact, innovation, market potential, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, with no numerical scoring or ranking disclosed.
