USAID/Indonesia is preparing a new stand-alone program aimed at reducing land-based greenhouse gas emissions and conserving biodiversity within Indonesia's carbon-rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove ecosystems. This initiative will be implemented through a forthcoming Statement of Work under the REPLACE IQC mechanism, with a Request for Task Order Proposal expected to be released within two months of the notice date, July 17, 2014. The program aligns with USAID's broader five-year Country Development Cooperation Strategy and is designed to address critical environmental challenges by targeting priority landscapes. On July 7, 2014, USAID hosted a meeting in Jakarta to present the future forestry program, gather input from more than 50 participants including NGOs, private sector representatives, and development partners, and discuss existing forestry activities and potential investment areas. This Notice of Information is intended solely to inform interested parties and is not a solicitation or binding contract offer. USAID encourages stakeholders to review the presentations and provide feedback, but any formal solicitation will be issued separately through official channels such as the Federal Business Opportunities website. The notice provides contact information for USAID officials handling acquisition and contract matters and clarifies that responses to this informational notice will not result in a contract. This approach ensures transparency and broad awareness as USAID develops its strategy to address environmental sustainability in Indonesia through targeted forestry programs.
