Full Description
The Department of Treasury, Treasury Common Services Center (TCSC)-Acquisition Services intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on behalf of the Office of Engraving. The contract will procure D2 Tool Steel Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) Bars a vital raw material used for production of Surface Pieces, which are then used for printing United States (U.S.) currency at the BEP Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, T.X. facilities.
Redding Steel, LLC is the only tested and approved source capable of manufacturing D2 Tool Steel ESR bars that meet the specifications in Attachment A (Appendix A-Drawing D2 Steel Tool Bars Dimensions & Tolerances). Therefore, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to Redding Steel in accordance with FAR subpart 13.5.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information, or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
