Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-2(b)(1&2), "An unusual and compelling urgency precludes full and open competition; and delay in award of contract would result in serious injury, financial or other, to the Government." This agency requirement will be awarded to, Mechanical Products Southwest, Inc., 2620 E. Rose Garden Lane, Suite 1, Phoenix, AZ 85050. The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has a requirement for the emergency repair and replacement parts for two (2) cooling towers. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333318. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals. A request for proposal (RFP) will not be available for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
