AI Contract Overview
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Trajan Scientific Americas, Inc. for continued maintenance and technical support of existing CTC Analytics laboratory instrumentation previously acquired under Leap Technologies. The equipment, which relies on proprietary Trajan hardware and Chronos software, is critical to the operational integrity of the CDC’s Division of Laboratory Sciences, and only Trajan Scientific Americas is capable of providing compatible maintenance services that meet the agency’s minimum technical and operational requirements. The scope of work includes preventive and corrective maintenance, software and firmware updates, replacement parts, remote and on-site technical assistance, and system performance verification to ensure uninterrupted laboratory function in alignment with manufacturer specifications. This action is justified under FAR 12.102(a) as a commercial service requiring exclusive compatibility with existing proprietary systems, and no competitive solicitation is currently planned. However, the Government is inviting all interested parties to submit information demonstrating their capability to meet the requirements by July 31, 2026, at 11 AM ET, to the contract specialist Ruben Reyes at qmz3@cdc.gov. Responses will be reviewed solely to determine whether a competitive procurement is warranted, and the agency retains full discretion to proceed with the sole-source award based on the evaluation. The contract will be performed at CDC’s facility in Atlanta, Georgia, under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with the procurement identified by solicitation number 97192.
