The Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate, acting on behalf of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, plans to exercise the FAR 52.217-8 option to extend services with M.C. Dean, Inc., the sole responsible source for this contract. This extension will continue performance under the existing firm fixed price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract awarded in April 2012 for the Integrated Security Services Contract (ISSC). The ISSC encompasses a comprehensive system approach for integrated electronic and physical security at key Department of Defense facilities, including the Pentagon Reservation, Mark Center, Defense Health Headquarters, DoD leased facilities, and Raven Rock Mountain Complex. The contract extension, authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) due to the lack of alternative suppliers, is intended to prevent any service gaps while the re-competition remains in source selection. The current contract period ends on October 31, 2016, and the option would extend the contract for up to six months, from November 1, 2016, through April 30, 2017, if required. The agency will publicly release the required justification for exercising this sole-source option within 14 days following the extension award. Lydia Richards is the designated point of contact for this action.
