This option exercise will be at the current rates specified in the current contract, as allowed by FAR 52.217-8, and will extend the period of performance end date from July 27, 2015 to January 26, 2016. This option exercise will further allow for solicitation, evaluation, and award of the competitive follow-on contract vehicle Department of the Army PASS-SB MAC. The incumbent contractor is the only responsible offeror(s) for exercise of this option, as the Government would experience unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements if this option were not exercised before the current contract expiration date of 26 July 2015. The Government will support the proposed actions by written justification and obtain appropriate approval prior to proceeding. The Government will synopsize the contract modification after award. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement specific to exercise of this option under FAR 52.217-8, "Option to Extend Services". This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this option exercise. A determination by the Government to exercise the aforementioned option clause and not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to exercise the option under 52.217-8. Any responses to this notice of contract action shall be submitted to the contract specialist, Sandi Crawford, at: sandi.crawford@navy.mil no later than 3 July 2015 by 4:00 PM EST.
