The Indian Health Service, Navajo Area, Shiprock Service Unit plans to restrict competition and negotiate a contract directly with Zoll Medical Corporation for preventive maintenance services on defibrillators at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM, and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center in Bloomfield, NM. The contract will begin with a 12-month base period followed by four one-year option periods and an additional six-month option to extend services. This procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 for electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance, designated as a small business size standard of $34 million. Competition is restricted because Zoll Medical Corporation is the sole source authorized to service, repair, and update the proprietary defibrillator instruments, including system software and configurations, due to proprietary technology that only licensed Zoll technicians can handle. Although this notice is not a solicitation or request for quotations, vendors believing they can provide these services may submit capability statements by the stated deadline. The Government will use these responses solely to decide whether to compete the contract or proceed with a single-source award. William Lee is the primary contract specialist and point of contact for this procurement.
