The Indian Health Service, Navajo Area, Shiprock Service Unit plans to award a sole-source contract to Zoll Medical Corporation for preventative maintenance services on defibrillators at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico, and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center in Bloomfield, New Mexico. The contract includes a base period of twelve months and up to four additional one-year option periods, plus a six-month extension option, all governed by standard federal contract clauses. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 811210 with a small business size standard of $34 million. Competition is being restricted because Zoll Medical Corporation is the only entity authorized to service, repair, and update the proprietary software and configurations of the defibrillators, as only its licensed technicians have access to the necessary technical information and tools. This notice is not a solicitation, but an opportunity for other vendors to submit capability statements before the deadline of June 22, 2026, to potentially challenge the single-source determination. All submissions must be sent via email to William Lee, the Contract Specialist, and verbal responses will not be accepted. The government retains full discretion to either proceed with the sole-source award or reopen competition based on any responses received.
