The U.S. Coast Guard Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center intends to award a sole source contract to Survival Systems USA Incorporated for the inspection, maintenance, and testing of specialized equipment at Coast Guard Base Elizabeth City. The scope of work includes the Model 40 MET, RBS, Smartjib, Rescue Towers, and associated components within the Rescue Swimmer Training Facility. This procurement is justified under the authority that only one responsible source can satisfy the requirements, as Survival Systems USA installed the proprietary equipment and it remains under mechanical and structural warranty. The contract structure consists of a base year with four optional one-year extensions. While this is a sole source notice published for informational purposes, the government invited interested parties to submit capability statements by July 29, 2014, for consideration. All inquiries and submissions are managed by the contract specialist, Connet Broadnax, and the final determination regarding competition remains at the sole discretion of the government.
